I have a surplus of Galloping Major's great 28mm figures- specifically Rangers. I am tempted to paint the ones wearing jockey caps as British light infantry- they look a reasonable enough match to me but would like anyone else's opinions if they are familiar with the figures. This is just in case I am missing something obviously wrong….. Of course I could simply add another Ranger company to my forces but I have never used all my existing Rangers in any one game so it would seem a rather pointless effort. |

What is your concern? Is it that you think the ranger figure may not really look like a British Light infantryman? |

Yeh I guess that's my concern…they may look just like Rangers despite their red coats. I will probably use them as LI, was just interested if anyone had any thoughts either way. |

Can you post a link to the figure? |

They are close enough in dress that you can use them if you like. |

I assume it is these: link scroll half way down and look for FIW RAN 1 My guess would be the leggings would be different than the Light Infantry. |

Yep that's the ones- I can't really photo my own figures as with being black undercoat already they don't show any details in pictures. |

Much of the British army went into wool leggings in 1759 (see Knox's Journal and Bouquet papers) so they would be okay in wool leggings. |

Think I'll go for it. Cheers guys. |
