I have a surplus of Galloping Major's great 28mm figures- specifically Rangers. I am tempted to paint the ones wearing jockey caps as British light infantry- they look a reasonable enough match to me but would like anyone else's opinions if they are familiar with the figures. This is just in case I am missing something obviously wrong…..

Of course I could simply add another Ranger company to my forces but I have never used all my existing Rangers in any one game so it would seem a rather pointless effort.

What is your concern? Is it that you think the ranger figure may not really look like a British Light infantryman?

Yeh I guess that's my concern…they may look just like Rangers despite their red coats. I will probably use them as LI, was just interested if anyone had any thoughts either
way.

Can you post a link to the figure?

They are close enough in dress that you can use them if you like.

I assume it is these:

scroll half way down and look for FIW RAN 1

My guess would be the leggings would be different than the Light Infantry.

Yep that's the ones- I can't really photo my own figures as with being black undercoat already they don't show any details in pictures.

Much of the British army went into wool leggings in 1759 (see Knox's Journal and Bouquet papers) so they would be okay in wool leggings.

Think I'll go for it. Cheers guys.
