Small post about changing…or adding a new direction…for my German colonial gaming:

Not my cup of tea but I would be interested in seeing where this goes

Sounds like an interesting and entertaining plan. I look forward to following along.

Buckeye, I love where you are going with this. I myself have run many games with The Wind And The Lion as the backdrop! Most notably the game we ran from the last battle scene in the movie and the recent games of The Hun The Frog And The Lion. The figs used for these games have tons of uses both within this historical fiction context as well as strictly historical encounters.

Have you checked out Roy Jones' awesome book for the Herero wars? It's a must have for any gamer interested in that period.

I do indeed have the Jones' book on the Herero Revolt…awesome work. Dr. Jones helped me determine which figures I would need for each troop type using 15mm.

Crackin' good blog, JB. I've added your blog to my blog list.

Buckeye, I agree, Roy's book is awesome. He's a great guy to deal with as well as being a true gentleman. He's also a great GM. I'm slowly building up forces for the Herero War.

Thank you for the kind words re my blog. I also enjoyed yours and have signed up to follow! We have many of the same interests, most notably Beer and Hockey….lol

Cheers,
JB

JB – Good to meet a fellow Germanphile who enjoys beer and hockey! :)

I am eagerly awaiting the Nama War book…even though I probably will never game that conflict the amount of info Dr. Jones puts into his work makes it worth the investment!

Thanks so much for the kind words everyone. I'm so glad to know people are enjoying the Herero book and enjoying the games that I run. And it's enjoyable for me, as a gamemaster, to run games for true gentlemen like you.

Your comments and enthusiasm have provided me with renewed energy to finish the Nama book!

And Buckeye, I'm excited about the new direction you're going.
