I think they just lost a ton of members on the switch |

It's still there, but there are not a lot of people posting right now. Several of the older threads are locked, and so there is a lot of information that can't be accessed. I'm also afraid that the mouse is right about losing a lot of members due to the switch. BWW |

No, it does seem to have disappeared ahich is very unfortunate as it was a mine of information. This is why I still prefer Yahoo Groups. |

"Sorry, this board has been permanently closed by it's owner" That's pretty sad as it was a good resource and a friendly place… |

Yes, I went to respond to a post and got that same message. They were talking about moving to Facebook, but as I don't have an account there I don't know if they did that. |

Hi all, many friendly familiar faces here Yes ! it looks like 'fieldsoffireonline' forum has been lost ! Vale ! .. this was a great forum spanning about ten years, with a cast of knowledgeable gentlemen wargamers from all corners of the planet and all "period" interests from French IndoChina through the 'American war' to the later Vietnamese wars with Kampuchea and China. This forum was also the natural successor to the "11Bravo" and "Gruntonline" sites that went before it. The forum suffered the Photobucket SNAFU this year (so lost a ton of photos) and then changed host to Tapatalk , which was a bit clunkier than the previous host. The main administrator soonafter went AWOL. We had also been locked out of some topics and were unable to induct new members,… so time to move on. Although I'm still getting notifications from the site like a ghost who doesn't know it yet. Yes, we would have lost a lot of data, photos, AARs, discussions etc , but the best part of the forum was always the people ,.. who shared the data, photos, AARs, discussions etc . ..about a week ago a few of us set up an alternate RV on FB here link … so if you FB and are looking for a new, yet old and familiar place to discuss your Indochina or Vietnam Wargaming plans and problems, need to fact check or be inspired to go further ? ..or just want to see what the Macgyver of wargaming is doing now,.. come and say hello . It's early days just yet , but we will have a forward supply of information, ideas and comradely-good-fellowship accumulating here in no time . |

jimmi FB is a good initiative but I think it is less clear for access to threads and archives. But better than nothing. I hope that Fieldsoffire previous admin will get the data back online. |

Agreed Pascal ! , I'm used to the way the old forum worked , plus the way threads archived. ..we'll make it work as we need to. I've just figured out how to post files myself … new-ish to this FB stuff myself. Hahaha! |

FB doesnt work well as a forum. You cannot search it fully. Its ok for news updates and current photo posts but little more than that. So sad to see the old forums go. I know I haven't been on them in a while but I had some good threads and posts on there. :( |

Yeah….was wondering what happened. I was using Fields of Fire quite a bit as I ramped up my Indochina minis. |

I don't like FB myself. Too unsecure. How about moving here? Joe |
