Hi Gents,
I am painting a Mahadist Colonial Army in 6mm and I am wondering what the colour of their guns could be.
I guess that they were almost all captured guns and then probably grey.
Is there anyone able to help me please?
TIA
Marco

Mahdist. Not Mahadist.

You are right. Sorry for the mistake.
However does the colour change?:-)

The Mahdist captured Krupp guns wd likely be grey. Their older guns I wd guess brown with brass coloured barrels.

Thank you very much Durban Gamer.
This is exactly the info I was after.

From the research I've done most Egyptian Krupp guns were mostly procured through Germany or Turkey, if my memory serves me correctly, thus they would be a dark blue color and faded to a blue grey. Any old muzzle loaders could be any color of faded wood. Check some of the more common colonial blogs and I think you'll see a blue grey or grey paint job on the Krupp guns.
Cheers,
JB

I can't remember where I found this…
"German/Prussian gun carriages/limbers: medium blue-gray carriage with unpainted steel barrels.
Mahdist gun carriages: Left-over Napoleonic muzzle-loaders used by the Mahdists could be a weathered wood colour which is a silvery grey."

Thank you all Guys.
Very useful information all tending to similar outcome.
Considering that my Baccus guns in 6mm seem to be Krupp I would use a medium blue gray shade.

Please note the color of the Krupp gun carriages in the Ansar mud fort.
