What is the term for dice that are popular in many commerical game set, where the 6 sides are:
3 of one symbol, color, etc
2 of a different
1 also different
?

So you have:
3/6 chance for one value,
2/6 chance for second value,
1/6 chance for third value.

I have seen these in a number of games recently, including the simple "Toss-Up!" dice game.

much thanks!

Time to make up a name, why not a D3-2-1 as per your topic?

I just know them as Saga dice …

Weren't these type of dice referred to as "Averaging Dice" back in the 80s and 90s? I seem to recall such die being required in some of the early versions of WRG Ancients Rules as well as some other various rule sets back in the day.

In early WRG rules – if I remember right, regular troops threw Average dice (2,3,3,4,4,5).

I don't know of a term for them. And yes, die Herkybird describes is the so-called "average die" (dice, whatever).
