Hmmm it did not look like a balanced game or green players vs experienced. The confederates look to be they were clobbered, with many unit with little to no losses in rout status! Is there was a specific reason the confederated marched up in road/march columns, already under artillery fire w/o at least one unit in open/skirmish order to protect their march? Or why they did not deploy once artillery fire of fire could be heard? I am not familiar with these rules system that may already would give me that answer. thanks MG |

The whole idea was to recreate the difficulties of attacking with an untrained army against an enemy in position with lots of artillery support. The Confederates had to approach in column as they were deploying from route march. The enemy are on higher ground not visible until the crest is reached. We like our games to be as realistic as possible. No helicopter views, 100% movement and omniscient wargaming at my place! |
