In 1677 Charles XI of Swedish decided to have colored drawings of all the captured trophies in the Royal collection. Olof Hoffman drew about 3000 of these, mostly in color, over the course of his life until he died in 1709. They include capture flags from Poland, the HRE, Bavaria, Denmark, Saxony, Russia, etc. for the period roughly from 1620-1706. The originals are in 30 volumes, but they have been digitized by the Swedish Army Museum and can be found here: link | | lloydthegamer | 21 Dec 2017 3:16 p.m. PST

The link works. There are 3400 thumbnail images. The digital museum also has photos of the actual trophies, often from three of four views. | | Frederick | 21 Dec 2017 6:24 p.m. PST

It is still work in progress, as not all volumes are digitized yet (for example it is estimated by Armémuseum's staff that volume with Polish flag should be available on spring 2018). Important thing with those drawings is the fact, that many original flags/standards didn't survived to our times and Hoffman's drawings are the only remaining evidence of them. | | spontoon | 26 Dec 2017 10:33 a.m. PST
