Would ID minis and Foundry minis mix well at all? |

The Foundry Miniatures are a bit smaller than Iron Duke and , being 20+ years old a bit less detailed. nevertheless there are still some gems included it that range. In fact some of the Foundry figures were so good I actually 'converted' them a bit to fit in with the newer Iron Dukes. In most cases it was simply lengthening the upper legs somewhat. On the left an Iron Duke in the middle and on the right a Foundry conversion. After this picture was taken I also lengthened the kilt on the officer with a bit of Magic Sculpt. Obviously something you wouldn't want to do for an entire unit but it gives you some really nice extras.

It would be so nice if some manufacturers would standardise sizes together – they would really deserve support. |

They look amazing, I don't have the skill to convert, so I think I will just have to stick with one range. |

One of the fantastic things about the older Foundry ranges is that the heads are both very slightly oversized and also wonderfully detailed – one suspects the Demi-gods took slightly longer on them in those days. It means that if you are so inclined you make some truly great head-swops on later, taller ranges. |

Well, I guess that the Iron Duke range will eventually cover nearly everything we might ever want. Barely halfway through the first (Allahabad) range (of three) and already there are 160 different sepoys available. The mind boggles when you think of the possibilities for Delhi and such. That said, yes, some of the Foundry figures can still be used preferably in separate units as can the very nice Mutineer ones which are slightly taller and chunkier than the ID ones. The Perry Afghans can also be used and fit perfectly. Studio Miniatures has some terrific command figures in their Afghan range. AW Miniatures has a small range of Indian Mutiny figures which fall between the two mentioned in size but not in detail or accuracy. Conqueror Miniatures also has a smallish range but I can't really give them a thumbs up. Old Glory has a range but I'm not particularly fond of them. Indus Miniatures has some real gems, especially the artillery and archers which can be used for the Mutiny and fit very well with Iron Duke. |

I'm with you Durban Gamer. I began building my 15mm Colonial armies about 35 years ago. Many of the current "popular" 15mm manufacturers seem to be producing figures 18mm+. I won't buy them. Thank goodness for Martin at Peter Pig who still makes true 15mm figures. And Stone Mountain Miniatures and Gallia Miniatures (produced by Warrior Miniatures). I started collecting 15mm figures because I liked the scale. Still do. I wish more manufacturers adhered to true 15mm and 25mm scale. |

Actually, the Foundry figures look big next to 25mm Minifigs Indian Mutiny figures. I would not call them true 25mm figures. |

Thanks for the responses chaps. I do like Foundry minis, but those ID sculpts look fantastic, particularly the Sikhs. |

I've gone entirely ID and Mutineer so if anyone is looking for Foundry I have a bunch I'd sell at a very reasonable price |
