Hmm.

Maybe there was a good reason why they used to put "horns" on the edges (or corners) of altars, perhaps to keep the logs or coals from rolling out onto the floor once they started collapsing on themselves in the center.

Shouldn't be too difficult to add those to the piece with a little bit of green stuff.

Strange looking signal fire. Old signal beacons tend to look more like this…
