We are talking GNW here.
Some regiment of both horse and infantry had blue uniforms
Nut what shade of Blue? I don't think light blue, so I'm guessing either dark blue or a mid Blue.

Considering all the variables, like diffeeent dye lots, cloth fading in the sun, unscrupulous contractors, etc., I would be comfortable going with the closest blue bottle on your painting table.

Russian Regimental records for the period quite often refer to "cornflower blue." That's what I paint mine.

Modern definition of cornflower blue:

But is it what we think of as "cornflower blue"? I grow these each year and they do vary considerably from a light " sky blue" through to a much darker shade.

There are several threads on cornflower blue, IIRC. I think a medium blue would work. For me, I use Vajello Dark Prussian Blue as a base and the second coat is Vajello Flat Blue. I don't highlight further, but you could. This is over a balcony primer/undercoat.

Depends on the unit. From some of the spy reports coming in to the Swedes at the time, it would appear some units in darkish blue to light blue. My guess would be like all the others, it would depend on the contractor and the dyes used. Frankly, I would use a medium blue for some units and a more 'coral' blue for others.
