Anybody know of a good close enough or figure that could be converted? The right stocky blocky body could easily be worked with a decapitation and globe head sculpt.

I had to google it.

So this is a Sontaran? Lol.

Yes that is the new current era of Sontaran.

They were around first in the '70's. Very stocky less streamlined.

If I knew how to post pics, I'd put up some pics of mine.
As I was trying to make the old Sarah Jane 4th Doctor era version, I used the 15mm Alternative Armies old Laserburn figures.
The Imperial Guard troopers. They come with a separate backpack so you can use them on something else.
There are helmeted versions and bareheaded versions. Didn't need conversions.
Just trying to find the codes.

In Spaceballs that means Dark Helmet was a Sontaran, who knew!

As for the original topic, how about this?

I can 3d print these.

Dan,

This looks like a sculpting/conversion challenge for you. grin

And I would certainly be interested in 15mm "not-Sontaran" figures myself.

GZG old-sculpt Kra'Vak aren't far off: link

The old-sculpt Kra'Vak power armour is also fairly close.
