For me it's a toss up between the original Lethal Weapon (1987) and the original Die Hard (1988).

What's yours?

Dan

Die Hard for me, many great scenes with a touch of humor.

I just re-watched Gremlins for the first time in 30 years…. I forgot that it was a Christmas movie! :)

well, the classics, obviously:
"Love Actually", "White Christmas" & " Love Finds Andy Hardy".

"Hitched for The Holidays" was a recent pleasant surprise as was "12 Gates for Christmas".

If you haven't seen them, I recommend "Heaven Sent" & "The March Sisters at Christmas" which is a 'Little Women' continuation.

Christmas Vacation….

Huscarle18 Dec 2017 5:58 a.m. PST

A Christmas Carol (Alastair Sim version), or The Great Escape (which used to be on every Christmas over here in the UK).

Vigilant18 Dec 2017 6:02 a.m. PST

Muppets Christmas Carol and Die Hard cover the bases for me.

For me it's "A Christmas Story" and "The Ref".

PJ ONeill18 Dec 2017 7:31 a.m. PST

I watched A Christmas Carol (I think it's called Scrooge) A. Sim version, with my Father from 1952 to 1970, and a good few after. It was our Christmas tradition. I sure do miss him.

jefritrout18 Dec 2017 7:46 a.m. PST

"A Christmas Story' and "Die Hard" top the list with "Muppet Christmas Carol" and "It's a Wonderful Life" also up there.

cloudcaptain18 Dec 2017 8:04 a.m. PST

Scrooged and Christmas Vacation here as well.

While not specifically a Christmas movie…Grumpy Old Men is a great gathering crowd pleaser. It's at least snowy and set during Christmas.

Choctaw18 Dec 2017 8:08 a.m. PST

Silent Night. The movie about Americans and Germans calling an uneasy truce on Christmas Eve, 1944.

A Christmas Carol … with General Patton … er … I mean George C. Scott … evil grin

Battle of the Bulge.

It was December, anyway.

Zeelow18 Dec 2017 9:18 a.m. PST

A little boy lives in my old body, so of course my choice is the story of a kid and his dream-pursuit of a Red Ryder BB rifle.

Bashytubits18 Dec 2017 10:18 a.m. PST

A Christmas story, hands down. An honorable mention to how the Grinch stole Christmas.

The various 'Scrooge' films, starting with Alistair
Sims, then George C. Scott and finally, Bill Murray's
version – 'Scrooged'

I like Trading Places for a guy movie.

Otherwise,

The Bishop's Wife
Christmas in Connecticut
The Cheaters

A Christmas Carol – George C. Scott version

I was watching three days of the Condor the other day, and noticed that it took place during Christmas season. The great film noir classic lady in the lake also takes place During Christmas season.

Does that make these Christmas movies? What is a Christmas movie; is it about Christmas or a movie that takes place during Christmas time?

willthepiper18 Dec 2017 3:10 p.m. PST

Don't know if it is a 'guys' movie, but I like Joyeux Noel, about the 1914 Christmas Truce.

nevinsrip18 Dec 2017 3:19 p.m. PST

Hat trick of "White Christmas", "Wonderful Life" and "A "Christmas Story".

They never get old.

Cyrus the Great18 Dec 2017 3:26 p.m. PST

A Christmas Carol – Reginald Owen
Scrooge – Seymour Hicks
Scrooge/ A Christmas Carol – Alastair Sim
Mister Magoo's Christmas Carol
Nightmare Before Christmas
Krampus
A Christmas Horror Story
Silent Night, Deadly Night

Dynaman878918 Dec 2017 3:44 p.m. PST

Scrooge – Albert Finney musical version.
Miracle on 34th street (original)
ELF
Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer (not a movie of course)
Santa Claus Conquers the Martians (MST3K)

In other words – the same as everyone else. Real men admit to liking Christmas classics while avoiding the Hallmark Channel like the plague.

14Bore18 Dec 2017 4:31 p.m. PST

A Christmas Carol but there are many versions I like

I always pop in my copy of Battle of the Bulge around this time. If I had a copy of Battleground I would watch it as well. But always had a fond memory of watching Battle of the Bulge on the late late movie as a kid.

Some great suggestions but I humbly suggest this is the best Christmas movie for guys:
"While You Were Sleeping"

The Great Escape, the Directors cut. In it, Gordon Jackson remembers not to say "Thank you" to the nice fat Gestapo man as he gets on the bus and he and Roger Bartlett get away. James Garner's aeroplane doesn't conk out and Donald Pleasance gets to spend the rest of his days in Switzerland being driven mad because being blind he can't tell the difference between cuckoo clocks and real cuckoos. And Steve McQueen doesn't faff about riding up and down in-between the border wire waiting to get shot, he gets it right and jumps the first row then hits a nice hump in the ground and flies over the second row as well before disappearing over the horizon to freedom. I heartily recommend the film, if you can find it of course.
