Is it possible to use teddy bear fur table matts for temporary or portable set-ups. Most of them I see pictures of seem fairly permanent. The roads are built in, for example. It also seems like moveable stuff like flexible roads, fences, and creeks, like those commercially available, or even houses, would look funny perched on top of the fur.

Does teddy bear fur really lend itself to alternate configurations and different battlefields?

Hi

Yes you can cut out different shaped fields and then do whatever pattern you like.

Thanks!

Yes, but I'm talking about using one large mat as the base, and being able to re-use it for different battles. Not cutting it up and using smaller sections.

Hi

If your Road/River pieces are heavy they can be pressed into the Fur. I use road with a MDf base and it works.

Check out Killing Fields Terrain mats – I have one and it works great. I place fields on top to give it a different color, also flexible to place hills under the mat. Highly recommended product:

Char, nice mat. I went to the "Killing Fields Terrain mats" site and they are quite reasonable! My question; Yours looks green but at the site they appear more brown. Did you color yours… I like the brown!

Skip – it has a brown undertone (see last picture bottom right – the long grass "blades" are green. The only drawback is the grass is a little long, but it works well and looks great. Very nice for Bolt Action or SAGA. I plan to use it with all my 28mm scales.

Have a great lead up to Christmas and get yourself one to put under the tree!!!!

It all seems a bit much -why would farms and villages have such long, wavy grass right up to the front doors? Seems like it would create an unstable base for the game figures as well.
