I was watching a few of the videos Martin has on his site about how his new edition SCW rules work, looks pretty good and easy enough to grasp. Anybody played the new edition since they came out? I don't want to order a book copy but I think I will buy the PDF when it does come out. Apparently the site says this December…a nice little Christmas gift to myself I say…………I deserve it of course! |

Yes – plays quite slickly, with a fair bit of streamlining compared to some of the earlier sets on which bits are based as well as some new tweaks. Lots of fun – but don't get caught in the open! |

A rather marvellous set of rules. Militia demonstrate that quantity has a quality all of its own. Full of period flavour. |

Thanks, I watched the clips Martin has but one thing I did notice is when you check morale everyone seems to need to roll an 8+ on 2 D6 to pass. I am wondering about that – does that mean that tough Legion or International Brigades roll the same number to pass as shaky first time militias? That seems wrong. But I am probably missing something. |

Yes every unit needs to roll 8 or more tp [ass morale. This is a nice easy system that works well. The "rub" is that a failure loses a veteran unit 2 bases, an average unit loses 3 bases and a raw unit loses 4 bases. this means that better units can withstand more morale failures. |
