I a confused about the new Late war book. I thought that this would convert the armies to V4 but all the points are still in v3 format. I just ordered the card packs off Amazon, still waiting to get them. Does this mean that as the game progresses that Battlefront will issue new cards with updated points that will eventually make the cards and book I just purchased obsolete? Also, is there no mixed Sherman platoons?

The new LW book is really for new players and still uses the existing LW/EW point values so it doesn't obsolete the existing books. The LW forces are fairly generic and seem to be based on "what's available in plastic" more than anything else.

Yeah, this book is for new players. That's fine by me: having everything on cards really will make it more teachable. I'm running an FoW game day on Sunday for bunches of new players – we'll see how it goes.
