My son and I just watched this on Netflix.
It's quite good in the bang bang action, horribly bad in the believability and logic department.
At a US base in Moldova, (remember the war in Moldova?) strange things are happening. Soldiers and civilians are being found dead by freezing. Or is it burning? Or both?
Strange things are seen on the goggles, and a square jawed scientist is sent out to investigate.
You can see where this is going. The Delta Force may as well be wearing Red Jerseys. The lovely CIA agent wants bodies of the ghosts sent back to Langley. Or something.
Everyone looks like 40K Space Marines or IG, with the huge weapons the scientist devised.
It seems the monsters are really Bose Einstein Condensates, made by 3D printing templates of humans whose nervous system is kept in vats.
All this is total nonsense, but what warmed the cockles of my heart was when the scientist (who figured out what the monsters were a little bit too quickly) wanted to REVERSE THE POLARITY of his thingie. Wow! The only thing more 50s sci fi than reversing the polarity is salt water!
SPOILER ALERT. The Good Guys win, but just barely.
