While challenging to find here in the colonies, Miniature Wargames has an article penned by Tony Francis of Brigade Models, being a scenario using his Spanish and United States ships for a 'Remember the Maine' battle.

He also has a link for downloadable cards for the Spanish ships.

FYI, MW does appear, intermittently, in some Barnes and Noble stores.

As an aside, has Mr. Fitton given any indication when we can see more ship cards? I don't FB, and he appears to do little other posting.

Mine used to carry it. The markup was HORRIBLE- I didn't even look at the price before I went to pay, and was shocked at the total. That's the last one I bought. B&N's markup was higher than either WI and WS&S, both of which, I hate to say, are much better-produced publications. At least as of the last time I saw MW.

Otherwise, yes, it's pretty hard to get off the shelf in the US.

But thanks for the heads-up. IS looks intriguing, and the updated BG minis are very tempting.

WI is fairly common; my shop has it in stock, regularly, and is oft at B&N.

WSS is a seldom player; local B&Ns vary, same as MW(as was the markup, I think), with one having a copy or two one month while the other didn't, then switch, then one or two months between any in stock.

I'll leave better to others, though. I've enjoyed the MW I've picked up very much.

The pricing hurts with most, as you say. I don't pick up every issue, alas. You DON'T want to hear what I payed for one MW, with ruinous shippage, from one online place.

*sigh* I REALLY wanted that issue…

As for IS, I've given personal pros and cons elsewhere, but the ships are delightful, and I'm willing to play IS, or Aeronef, or try any of several homebrew I've collected, so definitely a win!

MW is really hard to get here in NZ, but WI is a regular at most FLGS.

Good to hear that Imperial Skies is being promoted though :)

Interestingly there is another new Spanish American War naval set, Splendid Little War. It's available on Wargamevault link

I wonder how it would work as campaign for IS; I prolly should ask Mr. Manley. He did some marvelous extensions for Aeronef, back in the day, in SFSFW's Ragnarok.
