Hey all!

I just wanted to reach out to folks in the miniatures community… I am working on a civil war project, and would love to find some really nice civil war reenactment photos to use for it. They would be rather modified (run through several programs to make them look more like artwork) but should look great!

So I was hoping some of the reenactors on here might want to let me use some of their favorite photos? Hey, it's a fun way to get your picture into a product!:)

Anyway, if anyone on here could help, it would be hugely appreciated! Shoot me an email at grenadierguardscampaigns AAATTT yahoo DOT com.

Thanks all!:)

A really good idea. There are a lot of great re-enactors out there. Hope no one seeks to criticise them on this thread. SOSKAN are a Uk outfit who do ACW re-enactment. I am sure they can be contacted easily. they are probably not on this forum ( I don't really know).

That's a great photo, War! Honestly, sort of looking for some good battle shots… you know… lines of men, rolling smoke, waving flags… that sort of thing:)

Martin, thanks for the lead… I'll see if I can find them! Thanks!

This website hasn't been updated in ages, but the unit links lead to a lot of sites with lots of pictures.

Hey Scott! Can I ask, who could I talk to about maybe using some of them? I know you run the organization…?

I might have exactly what you are looking for, a collection of photos from dozens of major reenactments from the late 90s and early 2000s. They are actual film photos that would need to be scanned. Email me if you are interested.

Uhhhh, yes please! Ben, can you send me a PM with your email?

Thanks!:)

You're not a supporting member, so it's not letting me PM you

Ohhh interesting! Would you email me? My address is in the first post (although with all sorts of silliness between the names in an attempt to avoid spam!) :). Thanks!

Lord Ashram,

Actually I do not run the Mifflin Guard anymore, I retired from my command position a couple of years ago. I'm afraid you'd have to contact the individual organizations to ask permission.

I,more or less, retired from that hobby recently.

Re-enacting, the only hobby people retired from.

I reenact with the 28th Mass (4th regt, Irish Brigade) Are you looking for action photos or camp pics or a mixture? I have a few of each (OK, more than a few.)

Lord Ashram14 Dec 2017 4:31 a.m. PST

Hey John! Primarily battle shots, either of men advancing, charging, shooting (with guns level, as opposed to slightly raised as safety often dictates…). Would LOVE one that includes state flags! But yeah, if you have any you'd be willing to let us use, I'd totally appreciate it!

Thanks!:)
