Has anyone read this book from Daniel Mersey? Any thoughts on it as a decent newbie guide to the EIR and how to game it? (Even though it's inexpensive, I honestly do not need another unused book cluttering up my shelves. ;-) )

It's very good for the newbie. If you already have a library on Roman military history, I would suggest you pass.

I've always been interested in Roman gaming, but don't own any books on it or miniatures. Sounds like it would be for me.

My copy of this arrived today. Its very light on wargaming. For the life of me i cant understand why it doesn't mention anything about basing conventions. For the price its ok but to be honest your better off with googling specific information.
