What is the proper pronunciation….

Maude? (like mawd)


Not really sure. It looks like some references go with "maud", which is easy enough if that is correct :)

I always assumed MAW-ood (silent 'H'). Said quickly, that would effectively be MAUD,

Yeh, seems this might be correct. Well, its either correct, or no more wrong than any other pronunciation I choose to go with. Think I will take Maud over Chumley or throatwarvlermangrove.

Pending damning evidence to the contrary, Maude it is.
