Not quite the finished article, these 1/72 Hät Napoleonic Wurttemberg infantry still need based and a flag (any suggestions? I don't own a printer). I have stuck them onto a temporary cardboard base to see what they looked like. Think I will go for 40mm squares.

I made the standard bearer from the open handed figure from Hät's Bavarian infantry set. He needed a head swap and the front of the jacket was flat and lacked detail allowing for a bit of creative painting, adding in straps and facings in an attempt to blend him into the ranks.

They look terrific! It's nice to see you putting this good a paint job on plastic figures.

Very nice! I have always liked the 1/72nd scale and HaT makes some great figures!!

Thanks for posting. Great inspiration for me to get on with painting mine.

Nice to see these painted. I have a box but was a bit underwhelmed by them – the detail was a bit soft, so I lost interest. Looks like I should revisit them.

Thanks for posting

I love the close ups. The two lads third one down.

It may well be that the model detail is soft, but you have shown great brush skill to create just that.

It is wonderful to see distinctive styles. Rafa, Francesco Thau, Paxx88 and many others are instantly individually recognisable.

Yours have a marvellous Impressionistic quality to them. Artwork, not just filling in the colours.

(Imagine what he could do with metal figures in TOTS)

I love to see so well painted 1/72 minis. These Hät figures are excellent, I have them on my todo list… but the ancients first :)

Great head swap on the standard bearer.

Speaking of head swaps – these guys can swap heads with Poles. As far as I know, the only non-color difference is the heads. And except for some new, all-marching sets, there's just that one old set of Polish infantry, with waaay too many kneeling guys.

Thanks for all your comments guys. I painted a couple of them a few years ago but wasn't too enthusiastic with finishing the unit because of the soft detail. Now I have a LED head torch/lamp which helped me pick out some details as well as a few more years of painting experience and patience. I have another unit of 24 marching Wurttembergers but will put them off for a bit.

Nice tip with the Polish uniforms, these things are handy to know!

Thanks again everyone

One of the main reason I'm doing my current Napoleonic project in 1/72 is there is so much available now as opposed to when I was a kid trying to be creative with Airfix figures.

Skink +1

And Liam – don't think I didn't see what you did there grin

I also likewise have some of these in my never shrinking painting list. Yours look nice.

I'd kill for a set or two of these!

They have been OOS for so long!

Not wanting to hijack the thread by Mateus I have 2 sets if you would like them.

Mateus06 Dec 2017 8:34 a.m. PST

I'm interested! I'm gonna pm you.

Marc at work07 Dec 2017 12:14 a.m. PST

That is the odd thing with HaT. They have the money st comprehensive range, but it is OOS in odd ways. So you can find, say, a command pack, but not the troops. Or the interesting items like these, or Nassau, or mounted officers, are never seen again.

Very strange, and very frustrating

Marc

Sorry. That should be "the most comprehensive range". My phat phingers on my phone. Sorry

Lovely figures and will take the idea re the flag bearer when get round to painting mine

agree with comments on HAT, the restocking policy is odd and drawn out, buy when you can I guess

Another possible head swap, would be with the spare Belgic shakos in the HaT Pennisular British Infantry and you can have a unit of the Portugese Legion

cheers
