So I ordered some 15mm Capitan Spanish Hussars today. They have pictures of them, but the paint jobs aren't the best, so it is hard to tell how the good the figures are. The poses are animated, which are really like, so I went for it. I only ordered twelve, so it won't bankrupt me. Just thought I'd get some feedback from fellow wargamers on how they rate Capitan as apposed to AB or Blue Moon.

I have found that Blue Moon don't quite stack up to AB. They are too short and thin. BM equiptment is good and their horses are good. Campaign Game Miniatures(CGM)match very well to AB and I have a lot of both.
I don't have any experience with Capitan, though, but I am curious.

Capitan miniatures vary in size and quality, even in the same pack.

As a seperate unit they are ok. However I would not mix them with AB, Blue Moon, Campaign Games Miniatures, or indeed Xan (who was the designer of the Capitan range).

The only problem I had with Capitan Miniatures is the weak ankles of their horses. After breakage after painting them I had to replace all the horses to be safe as two broke off at the hooves.

For those of you in the US I'll be putting my stock on clearance soon. Meanwhile here is my $0.03 USD on the matter:

EC,

I didn't see Capitan or Blue Moon specifically listed there.

Capitan started out as Fantassin, then became Warmodelling, then Capitan and now are called Battle Models. All the same figs.

Yeah, updating that site is a huge project. I need to add Blue Moon, Campaign Game Minis, BattleLine and many more….

*sigh*

Did the molds change during the transition from Fantassin to Battle Models? I think there is a post about it somewhere on TMP.
