Did the musicians in the Saxon Dragoons have reverse colors like in some other armies? I am currently painting a unit and don't know.

What time frame?

According to my sources (Uniforms of the Seven Years War, a painters guide: William S Biles)

'The musicians of Regt. Karl wore red coats with green facings and vests. Lace was red inside yellow and was worn on the shoulders in a "swallows nest" pattern, down the sleeves in inverted chevrons, on the pockets, breast and rear waist of the coat. Trumpet decorations were red and gold. Drums were silver with red and green diagonally striped rims.
Bruhl's musicians wore either grey coats with light blue facings or white coats with light blue facings. Lace was yellow inside blue in the same style as for Karl. The drum rim was red with 2 light blue stripes and the drum was brass. Trumpet decorations were red and white.
Musicians of the Albrecht regiment wore green coats with white facings. Trumpeters wore silver inside gold lace and drummers wore white inside yellow lace. The drum was brass with a red and white rim. The trumpet was decorated with green, yellow and white mixed lace.'

I hope this helps.

It appears the dragoon musicians wore the same white coat as the troopers, but with wings and lacing

The Saxon chevauleger musicians appear to have worn reversed colors (except Graf Bruhl).
