Golgoloth: Perhaps swap out the stock tripods for ones from another range – All Quiet on the Martian Front comes to mind. |

I like it! Great gaming idea. Too bad I don't have enough time (and money) to explore it… Playing too many games/genres, already. Around 15 years ago, a friend ran a pretty standard WWII game, Americans versus Nazis, in an industrial park area. Unbeknownst to them, I was commanding some advanced Martians, with a couple of invisible/cloaked Mech's. I had ground troops hiding in a 2-story factory, as well. I uncorked a couple of ultra-heavy cannon shots from my invisible mech's on some of their vehicles, brewing them up, spectacularly. They were trying to figure out what hit them sooo hard… Then my infantry dropped some stun grenades out the 2nd story windows of the factory, in the midst of some Nazi squads walking below. My infantry then ran outside, and put their light sabers to very good use, a'la Anakin Skywalker killing the padawans. The referee was shocked at how brutal, and effective, my tactics proved. Unfortunately, my mech's took some HE fire, and lost their cloaking devices. Then the Americans and the Nazis ganged up on my forces, and erased me from their planet's battlefield. They then nonchalantly went back to killing each other, as if I never existed. LOL!… This game concept has tremendous potential for fun, interesting sci-fi play, based in the early days of the genre. Seems like great gaming, to me. Cheers! |
