Hi,

Looking for the best suppliers of 20mm WWII US infantry and AFV. I am building a force for Chain of Command. My opponent has used Valiant miniatures and they look fine. I was just wondering what alternatives (plastic or metal) you guys might suggest. I have been considering PSC for plastics and AB look nice for metal but costly.

Thanks in advance for you advice

Regards

Alan

Zvesda fot German and Soviet but no Americans.
FFA used to be in Nashville but I do not know where their HQ is now. PSC as you said are available from several distributors. I sale very little 20mm so I sold them for less than half price at a recent convention.

I would spend the money on AB. Totally worth it. Treat yourself. They paint up beautifully.

For US paratroopers. look at Elheim (if he still makes them).

TQD also makes nice figures.

Good luck with your project.

AB hands down.

You don't need a massive force for CoC and they are lovely figures to paint and own. I always think the biggest investment in a project is our time and that may as well be spent painting the figures that you really like. Anything else might be classed as a waste of time and money. YMMV.

Well definitely not PSC for US, as their infantry set are wearing totally incorrect German style "Y"-strap webbing:

Thanks for the feedback. Looks like I'll have to be a good boy and hope Santa brings some AB figures.

I also have some FoW 15mm British, which I understand with the CoC scale 15mm is a better scale. These figures are yet to be based, so I'm looking into making flexible magnetic bases so i can flipperty flop between CoC and standard FoW basing.

Once again thanks

Alan

I carry both Elhiem and TQD in the States. A couple of sample pics. Let me know how I can help.

If you are going up against Valiant figures you will need either Valiant or Raventhorpe yourself, they are much taller than other manufacturers and will tower over AB, Elheim etc.

Grubby Tanks does a good selection of US PIR & Infantry at a reasonable price too.

Hi Londonplod, thanks for that. I have been reading the plastic soldier reviews and was coming around to that conclusion. Especially as the Valiant figure are quite cheap, at least to get me up and running.

Thanks to you all for your advice. I'll save my money for and buy AB's for my 15mm Napoleonic Barvarians.

Cheers
Alan

IIRC, Leon Adler has just designed a range of 20mm US AI. I remember thinking how nice they looked when he posted some photos.
