How do you respond to the question … "Don't you have enough miniatures?"

Cyrus the Great24 Nov 2017 6:06 p.m. PST

I respond, "No".

cavcrazy24 Nov 2017 6:10 p.m. PST

Did Napoleon have enough soldiers?

robert piepenbrink Supporting Member of TMP24 Nov 2017 6:16 p.m. PST

I say "Actually, I have too many--but not always the right ones. And it's tough to find them good homes."

charared24 Nov 2017 6:22 p.m. PST

Never "enough"!!!

rustymusket24 Nov 2017 6:23 p.m. PST

"I need just one more pack to complete my army." Then I need another army.

Winston Smith24 Nov 2017 6:43 p.m. PST

What a silly question.

I don't understand your question. What is this "enough" you use in reference to miniatures?

Personal logo 20thmaine Supporting Member of TMP24 Nov 2017 6:48 p.m. PST

Yes – more than I need

Leadjunky24 Nov 2017 6:51 p.m. PST

Actually yes, but I agree with Robert. I find there is a fine line between collecting and hoarding. I have crossed it many times over. Buy, store, forget, rediscover, purge, repeat….

ZULUPAUL Supporting Member of TMP24 Nov 2017 6:52 p.m. PST

Yes & I need to get rid of some.

Dynaman878924 Nov 2017 6:53 p.m. PST

Does not compute

DisasterWargamer Supporting Member of TMP24 Nov 2017 7:15 p.m. PST

While I have some that need a good home – I need more to start or complete other interests

PzGeneral24 Nov 2017 7:49 p.m. PST

Hello, my name is Dave. And I'm a miniature's junkie……

wink

Glengarry524 Nov 2017 7:52 p.m. PST

Have we run out of interesting subjects to wargame?

Narratio24 Nov 2017 8:00 p.m. PST

A loud, confident 'NO!" is the only acceptable answer.

FusilierDan Supporting Member of TMP24 Nov 2017 8:58 p.m. PST

Enough for what? Enough of which ones?
Short answer no.

wrgmr124 Nov 2017 9:53 p.m. PST

Only when I run out of space to store them.

myxemail24 Nov 2017 10:07 p.m. PST

Enough? For which genre?

Tgerritsen Supporting Member of TMP24 Nov 2017 10:08 p.m. PST

I usually answer with, ‘Who the hell are you and why are you in my house?'

Old Contemptibles24 Nov 2017 10:53 p.m. PST

Can never have too many. Enough is not enough.

Old Glory Sponsoring Member of TMP24 Nov 2017 11:15 p.m. PST

Much like stamp and coins collectors-- who collect just to have, look at, admire, and simply for the purpose of collecting -- I truly believe that our hobby is as much about collecting as it is gaming? Same holds true with model railroading.

There's always room for another bag of shiney new toy soldiers !
I'm a fan of the 'big battalions' and I must have over 4000 15mm Napoleonics neatly arranged ready for the painting table, mostly Old Glory and Lancashire games but I find I still need to add to this to get the units I want looking right. I like nothing better than looking through the bags and dreaming about painting this regiment or that one. Oddly enough this gives me more pleasure than actually gaming!

Russ is spot on, a pox on trying to analyse it all we're wargamers not accountants! Buy what you can afford when ever you want it and enjoy the fun of the hobby.

1. Hi Dave!

2. +1 TGerritsen!

14Bore25 Nov 2017 4:53 a.m. PST

No, but have way more than I could handle at once

panzerCDR25 Nov 2017 5:37 a.m. PST

I hope not, because otherwise, what will my wife give me for Christmas?

Other than otherwise, of course yes. It's a hobby after all . . .

Personal logo Legion 4 Supporting Member of TMP25 Nov 2017 7:54 a.m. PST

Too many with more to come !!!!! But yes, like a lot of hobbies collecting is all part of it. E.g. Knew a woman that collected ceramic frogs … so go figure ! wink

Mick the Metalsmith25 Nov 2017 9:50 a.m. PST

My wife thinks I do. Me? Silly question. Unpainted figs prevents early death. I did finally painted up some 40 year old dwarf figs I bought back as a kid. This to help justify my purchase of some new figs to she who must be obeyed. It didn't work.

Oberlindes Sol LIC Supporting Member of TMP25 Nov 2017 11:58 a.m. PST

What is this "enough" of which you speak?

Black Cavalier25 Nov 2017 2:09 p.m. PST

I answer with "Don't you have enough shoes/purses/coats!?"

Do you have enough not getting the crap kicked out of you?

Personal logo Legion 4 Supporting Member of TMP28 Nov 2017 6:48 a.m. PST

Well … I did what I said I wouldn't do and fell for the allure of Cyber Monday. I bought some 6mm Troops for Exodus Wars on Shapeways. Said I wouldn't do it … But couldn't pass up 10% off and free shipping ! frown wink

kcabai03 Jan 2018 1:20 p.m. PST

You can never have enough, T34s, Orcs or trees.
