A new army arrives to battle Legio XII, an excellent game promising more mayhem in future games.

Imperial Romans fighting Punic War Carthaginians?

Sobieski23 Nov 2017 4:06 p.m. PST

With you, Major. There hasn't been any excuse for that one in decades.

Very nice AAR, George. It inspired me to dig out my copy of War and Conquest and take another look. Very nice Blog as well. Will be keeping my eye on your musings.

Don't understand why there needs to be any excuses. More puzzling is the negativity.

Thanks for posting. Looks like you had a fun game with a friend. Brilliant.

It was a good game. And as for you other two what does it matter, are you the Period Police? It was two friends enjoying a game and the armies were fine.

I usually say there is always one, but in this case there are two, lol.

Shields of the appropriate period up!

You're lucky it is a long holiday Old Guy. I will now have to wait until Monday to formally file my complaint with the BBC. Bureau of Button Counting. 😊

Shame on your opponent for not painting up the correct army for you to fight, I trust his shield patterns were all accurate at least ;~)

Splendid report of a tight looking set to, nice to see the Romans not getting to easy a time of it.

I thought for an out of period clash, it was a very close battle. A friend is painting up a Han Chinese/Indian army to fight my Romans, will I need a TMP license to fight that one?

Sounds about par for TMP. (smile)

I merely asked a question. If you're fine with it then OK. I wouldn't, but that's just my choice.

I think if you follow George's blog , you will realise he lives in an ancient gaming desert where he was lucky to have found one regular opponent. I personally try to avoid out of period games, however if it is a choice of that or no game, then I'll play any army.
