Which TMP member is the most helpful on the WWII boards?

Tommy2022 Nov 2017 10:41 p.m. PST

R. Mark Davies/Jemima Fawr (by far).

BattlerBritain23 Nov 2017 2:08 a.m. PST

Seconded.

laretenue23 Nov 2017 3:10 a.m. PST

RMD, by a long shot.

Which is why I wish he'd come back …

Timbo W23 Nov 2017 5:18 a.m. PST

Looking like a landslide. Fifthed.

deephorse23 Nov 2017 7:17 a.m. PST

RMD. No contest. Too many give fairly ill-informed opinions and not facts. RMD is head and shoulders above the rest.

Cacique Caribe23 Nov 2017 8:46 a.m. PST

What happened with him?

Dan

badger2223 Nov 2017 8:50 a.m. PST

RMD. Not just knowledge, but the ability to impart it without ruffling to many feathers.

Cacique Caribe23 Nov 2017 9:28 a.m. PST

Yes but why is he gone?

Dan
PS. I'm starting to sound like Jack Sparrow now. "Yes, but why is the rum gone?"

deephorse23 Nov 2017 10:37 a.m. PST

Had his account locked some time ago.

Kungfucius23 Nov 2017 11:09 a.m. PST

Bracken. His tutorials are really useful

wizbangs23 Nov 2017 2:07 p.m. PST

Piers. His work continues to inspire & amaze.

Greg G123 Nov 2017 3:52 p.m. PST

RMD.
He is currently quite on the BattleFront Forum, he was writing the BattleFront: First Echelon rules.

hindsTMP Supporting Member of TMP23 Nov 2017 6:34 p.m. PST

Mark 1 comes to mind.

"Jemima Fawr" does not impress me. Too many foaming at the mouth posts when his political toes are stepped on.

Wolfhag23 Nov 2017 10:08 p.m. PST

I could not narrow it down to one:
Just Jack, Blutarski, Mobius, Legion 4, Mark 1, McLaddie, UshCha, etehopi, John D Salt

I'm not saying I agree with everything they post. Disagreement is helpful too.

Unfortunately, I'm not familiar with the others mentioned.

RitterKrieg23 Nov 2017 11:53 p.m. PST

Mark one. Hands down.

mysteron Supporting Member of TMP24 Nov 2017 2:37 a.m. PST

I miss my name sake. His knowledge on WW2 stuff was second to none. Always very helpful, just sad he isn't with us anymore on this forum.

deephorse24 Nov 2017 3:25 a.m. PST

"Jemima Fawr" does not impress me. Too many foaming at the mouth posts when his political toes are stepped on.

Did you need to post that? We were nominating our "most helpful", not character assassinating those we don't care for. If that's what this topic is going to turn into then some of those newly mentioned have glaring flaws too. Should they be listed by name and fault?

mysteron Supporting Member of TMP24 Nov 2017 7:08 a.m. PST

can someone advise what "accounts locked means" ie dormant, suspended or left the forum on their own accord ?

Personal logo Editor in Chief Bill The Editor of TMP Fezian24 Nov 2017 8:13 a.m. PST

A locked account is one that has been closed by TMP staff, generally due to forum behavior problems. In some cases, people ask for their accounts to be closed. Also, Stifling a staff member automatically closes an account.

Thanks Wolf ! Didn't even think I was in the running ! laugh

Wolfhag24 Nov 2017 8:58 a.m. PST

Legion 4,
There are only a few that have "been there, done that" like you and Just Jack which is generally what I'm looking for when I ask for help. Opinions are nice but experience counts.

Blutarski, John Salt, UshCha, Mobius and Mark 1 are a wealth of research knowledge and are always responsive.

Wolfhag

Personal logo Legion 4 Supporting Member of TMP24 Nov 2017 9:04 a.m. PST

Thanks again, Wolf ! And yes, I see and agree with your point … I too always advocate experience and training.

Wolfhag24 Nov 2017 11:59 a.m. PST

I forgot McLaddie, he's one of the only people I know that made enough $$ to support a family while designing games and simulations. He's one of the most knowledgeable I know for game theory, user interface and design.

I'd just like to give a tip of the cap to all who have extended a helping hand when I had a question or needed some advice, regardless of period or topic. I've made some great strides in my gaming due to their unselfish contributions.thumbs up

Joe Legan24 Nov 2017 7:16 p.m. PST

Agree with Legion 4, Just Jack and John Salt.

RMD, Piers Brand…hard choice.

Personal logo Legion 4 Supporting Member of TMP25 Nov 2017 3:35 p.m. PST

Thanks Joe ! thumbs up

VonBlucher26 Nov 2017 6:02 p.m. PST

RMD, Piers Brand also, and RMD is pretty knowledgeable with Naps and the GdB Rules. I miss him but haven't caught up with him yet on the GdB forums.

HidaSeku29 Nov 2017 5:47 p.m. PST

Mark 1 would be my choice.

bracken Supporting Member of TMP02 Dec 2017 2:08 p.m. PST

Kungfucius thank you, I feel rather flattered and humbled

mysteron Supporting Member of TMP06 Dec 2017 4:13 a.m. PST

I think Tango 01 would also be a worthy mention as he keeps us up to date with what is new.

Personal logo Legion 4 Supporting Member of TMP06 Dec 2017 8:23 a.m. PST

thumbs up

thumbs up wink

Kungfucius06 Dec 2017 3:59 p.m. PST

Bracken you are one of the masters, both in painting and in teaching, and the time and skill spent in taking step by step pictures of your work deserve recognition. I paint 20mm, not 28mm, but your tutorials are the first resource I resort to when starting a new project

bracken Supporting Member of TMP18 Mar 2019 3:22 a.m. PST

Thanks Kungfucius, I'm planning on doing more unfortunately me and photobucket are not see eye to eye at the moment. So my blog will be taking centre stage for future projects

Thanks again for your very kind words
Cheers Russ

Everyone named Mark/Marc

Lion in the Stars18 Mar 2019 10:24 a.m. PST

Are we still running this poll?

Tie between Mark1 and Piers Brand. Mark1 for organizational things and Piers for the artistic side of the hobby.

AussieAndy04 Apr 2019 6:34 a.m. PST

Mark 1 and Marc 33594 both made kind and generous responses to my first newbie enquiry.
