Hello all.

I've been slowly progressing to the point where I'm beginning to attempt my own miniature scenes using my phone camera. Learning a lot about focus on foreground vs. background, lighting, etc.

Not professional by any means, but I'm hoping to get good enough where I can create some visual stuff for some of the narrative campaigns I'm running for 9th Age, Oldhammer, Kings of War, etc.

The next thing I really need to invest in are painted backdrops so that they can be true diorama scenes with no modern stuff in the background. I could make those out of sheets or paper and just paint sky and clouds and distant hills, etc.

Any additional advice on how to do backdrops? I've seen some of you guys do some amazing photography with your own miniature stuff!

So for better or worse, here they are!:

thumbs up !! Heh! I could hear the in cadence stomping of their foot gear as they marched around the village with the loud crashing of their sword hilts on their shields. I bet they woke up every drunk in town!

Thanks for all the positive feedback guys!

I did make the rivers. They are built into the terrain tiles. I used wall filler to make the banks and then just painted the river bed in a dark color mix of blue, black and green. Then the water effects were simply painted over it.

The actual water effects is simple Mod Podge gloss sealer, which is the best product I have ever used for creating realistic-looking running water.

@The Angry Piper,

The statues are from a company named MOM Miniatures, I think they're out of Italy. They are an amazing site, they sell all kinds of resin stuff. And their prices are ridiculously good!

You get a set of TWO of these for 10 Euros, which works out to about $15.00 USD for the pair!

Very nice. Great paint jobs and it's nice to see some other troop types on the move. Anyone got some forces of evil also taking to the road?

@Baranovich: Fantastic! Everything!

My Chaos Dwarfs would crush those half sized human specimens. :-)

Nice job though.
