Game worlds you made a investment into, but the rules broke. For me, 40k Dark Eldar and Chaos Marines and Starship troopers.
I'm sure there are others…

(Title was too long, so I chopped it, now it fits and I can post it 😜)

The real world !

More variety and easier to research than any fantasy setting.

More interesting too.

Starship Troopers.

Was going to Invest in Dystopian Wars…but no one played the fleets around here…lot of buzz but that was it.

Then was going to do AQMF…glad I didnt….

I've got numerous sealed boxes of SST minis sitting on the shelf behind me…got them cheap but they are getting pricey now…and well..the rules broke on those too…

My game world is my own creation, so if it's broken, I'm responsible for fixing it. I'm always fixing it. ;P

I have 30 years worth of W$Fantasy and 40K, haven't played in 5+ years.

Maybe 3-4000 painted figs.

Dungeons and Dragons.

Dwarf Wars, I loved the concept but the rules are a horrid mess.

I'm always puzzled by these sorts of comments.

So why don't people just use the good figures with other rules?

Can't speak for others but I stopped playing D&D ages ago for other rules sets.

I am with Optional, my biggest chagrine about miniatures play with WH was non-GW figs being banned from from play while in a GW shop. I really felt for the kid I saw taken off the table, even though his army still had some GW figs, just not enough.

I never hesitate to use what ever figs I like for any game I want to play, manufacturer be damned.

Flames of War. Went to Blitzkrieg Commander. Much happier….a little richer.
