"The five of us decided to have a skirmish game this time, i.e. one figure represents one man (and not 20 as usual). We thought we might play an event in the Forage War in New Jersey in 1777. It began with Harald writing a scenario for it…."

nice looking table

Thank you, Armand, for having a look at my blog, and putting a link here. I have not yet found out how to link it here myself.
I had quite some job with this post as Harald's scenario was originally in German and I had to translate it. As I have never served in any army my vocabulary of military terms is very poor. Harald helped me, though, and the other playmates told me details that had slipped my attention.
So I am very glad about flattering comments!

your map doesn't show the battle of the Short Hills in the summer of 1777. Prelude to the British move to Philadelphia. people in my town are upset because a home from the battle will likely be demolished by developers.

The home was purchased by a veteran that was captured and imprisoned in Sugar Loaf Prison in New York City. What the British didn't burn, the developers in my town have all torn down in the last 25 years.

Really nice. I love how big the battle field is. I bet that was an awesome game.

Very nice! Many figures there I did not recognize. Lots of Perry Miniatures, but who makes the Brewery workers (and the tavern wench)?

Fridericus23 Nov 2017 4:47 a.m. PST

Hello, dBerczerk,
I will try to answer your questions:
The brewery workers are by Black Hussar Miniatures ( blackhussarminiatures.de ) a German firm in Berlin, the tavern wench is by Redoubt Enterprises in GB( link ) . She is one of six wenches ( BB40 ) .
I hope that helps.

Hello huron725,
Actually the game was great fun. A lot of movement and marching, though, as in reality. Our game is in rounds, each signifying 15 minutes; in it a pedestrian will move 24cm on the road. So the distances in this skirmish game could be easily covered.
