The authorised WE for an Armd Car Regt (British rather than Canadian) in 21AG was;
RHQ – 2 Staghound, 1 Daimler
HQ Sqn with – AA Tp (5 AA Armd Cars) and Intercommunication Tp (13 Humber scout cars)
Four Sqns, each
Sqn HQ – 3 Staghounds, 1 Daimler armd car and 1 Daimler scout car
Five Tps (each) – 2 Daimler armd cars and 2 Daimler scout cars
Sp Tp – 1 Daimler scout car (and three 15-cwt trucks or more likely White scout cars, M3A1)
Heavy Tp – 2 AEC MkIII armd cars and 1 Daimler scout car
The Inns of Court and both HCR Regts had the AEC, while 11H and 1RD both used the substitute 75-mm equipped halftrack. Inns of Court ceased reporting any AEC on their AFV return from late Jan45, while 11H had exhausted their 75mm halftracks around the same time. 1RD used a mix of AEC and 75-mm halftracks from mid-Feb45, while both HCR Regts were reporting sufficient AECs for WE.
I have to admit I was taken by surprise at the use of the sawn off Daimlers when I first saw mention of them, and don't know how many were so converted and how they fitted into the Tp structure, which itself I think was fiddled about with in the field.
