BTW,there's a theory that the barrel was "yellow metal" as well, whether that means painted or just brass, I don't know: link Granted,that's about SYW--I bring it up because it was mentioned here: TMP link Which implies it went back to the earlier period. Maybe Supercilious Maximus could clarify. Or if you have some info,it would be appreciated. |
