Fantastic detail.

PS. Now, if you could get Mark to finish his 15mm "Picts", with some command or characters … :)

Very nice. They remind me of the old Nick Lund orcs.

Keifer11315 Nov 2017 9:06 p.m. PST

They have hit on everything so far.

I'm hoping their elves aren't wearing skirts and use back quivers and not side quivers, and have western swords, not katanas…..

Pre order done. Can't wait.

Any info on the sprues?

Always on the lookout for dwarf sized goblins to arm with muskets for use as guerillas. If they have shields cast on their arms that makes it much more difficult to convert other than by strapping a musket to their backs.

Thank you in advance!

Bob

Separate shields, M C MonkeyDew. There's enough on each sprue to make 5 archers, 5 spearmen or 5 hand weapons, with parts for champion and standard bearer. You can obviously mix and match as well – archer with a bow in one hand and a hatchet in the other for skirmishers or something.

FAB. Thanks Goober!

Got my pre-order in!

Also re:elfs. There is a pic of a prototype elf floating around the net, & definitely has a "western" style sword. No word on quivvers, arrow bags, etc. yet.

Damon.

I just put my pre-order in too!

Tolkienic goblins at last!

Garand16 Nov 2017 2:26 p.m. PST

Guessing the Elf prototype will probably be the "free" pre-order figure when those come out then, since the dwarf & goblin are for their respective sets…

The Oathmark Facebook thread has pictures of the sprues.

Unless I miss counted, there's only four spears on the sprue, but 5 hand weapons and bows. There is a also banner pole that might be able to be fashioned into a spear.

M C MonkeyDew16 Nov 2017 2:55 p.m. PST

I count 5 spears and 1 banner. Thanks for the post. Nice to see them.

I like these Orc like Goblins.

Also, incidentally, the weapons the elves are using in the Newline films is closer to a Nagamaki or a Romphaia than a Katana. They were cool for the first battle, but got irksome seeing all elves use them. Newline isn't the first to have their elves use curved swords, but it became more problematic as time went on.

Could these be used as 1/72 large orcs? How tall are they?

That elf looks good….not a fan of the feather, but he looks damn good.

Crossing my fingers that I won't have to find a way to do my own figures to satisfy my vision of what elves should look like.

( TBH, Red Box Games has a great aesthetic for elves, but Tre Manor seems more occupied with barbarians and dwarves :( )

Not to get off topic, but the dwarves and goblins fit into what I want in miniature dwarves and goblins. Keep up the great work.

Are the Oathmark figures heroic or truescale 28mm? Anyone have a scale comparison figure with say, GW and LOTR and maybe some historicals?

Zinkala17 Nov 2017 9:20 p.m. PST

More on the heroic size I think but not huge. I received them today but the wife took them away as a Christmas present for me so I didn't get a side by side comparison with my older GW dwarves. From the quick look I got of them I'd say bigger and heavier than LOTR dwarves but maybe a bit smaller than current GW. Really like the look of these and am looking forward to getting my hands on them again. I will be ordering the goblins as well.

Keifer11321 Dec 2017 1:36 p.m. PST

Hmm ok. I'm hoping to use them next to historicals, like the Vikings and Saxons etc put out by GB. I know those mix well with the Frostgrave stuff…..

Zinkala21 Dec 2017 10:18 p.m. PST

For looks one of the odder match ups in my collection is older Warhammer dwarves versus Warlord Games early imperial romans. The dwarves are fairly big and the romans fairly small. They're about the same height but the dwarves are way bulkier. So in my world romans are very short humans. The goblins are on their way and I'll get my hands on the dwarves again in a few days.

Keifer11322 Dec 2017 9:44 a.m. PST

Yeah those Warlord EIR are tiny. They were made by another game company and absorbed. MOst of the plastic stuff out there are sized similarly, not as small.

Zinkala22 Dec 2017 3:24 p.m. PST

Got the goblins today. Here's a quick comparison photo for you.

Not used to using Google photos on forums so hopefully you can see it.

L-R Frostgrave enchanter, 6th ed Warhammer plastic dwarf, Thunderbolt Mountain heavy goblin, BFSP goblin, Fireforge russian archer mixed with the Oathmark metal minis.

The plastics look to be a little shorter and a fair bit slimmer than the metals which is fitting as these are the characters/heroes. These goblins look to be roughly man sized when compared to the Gripping Beast and Fireforge minis I have. I'll be using them as the "elite" units for my goblin army but I haven't decided yet how I'll assemble them.

Nice! Thanks for the pics!
