Nice report and great photos – I like the idea of the "Lull" cards |

A neat report. Picquet had some interesting concepts, and I played some great games when it first came out. I have not played Test of Battle. But I found Picquet could give some stinker games, if the initiative dice were way off (e.g., Player A rolled a 3 and Player B rolled a 17). Poor Player A cold never get anything to happen. Now, that certainly happened in real life, but it's not much fun for Player A. How do your rules work that? BTW, good to see you play in God's Own scale and you base your vehicles---a man after my own heart! |

Thanks Guys. Yes, traditional Piquet can give unbalanced games if the initiative dice are all one way, but I use the FOB (Field of Battle) method – winner gets 3 cards, then the lose gets 3 too. The actual combat mechanics are a right old mix from several different rule sets, tweaked and added to by me. Very early stages of development, but look promising. Certainly enjoyed the 2 games I have played so far. Keep an eye on the blog for updates. |
