Do you smoke while at the wargaming convention or show? * yes, I smoke at the show * I take smoking breaks * I smoke, but not while at a show * I don't smoke * I don't smoke any more |

I don't smoke. I don't mind if others take breaks to smoke outside the show. |

I don't smoke. I also don't mind a smoke / bathroom break. |

If they keep it outside it is fine. Inside, no way. |

The Host used to sell cigars at the bar, that is up until the state ban on smoking in restaurants. |

Would like a designated area for smoking. Nothing beats a good cigar and a whiskey after a game. |

Never smoked. Smokers lower the value of their collector games and books by at least 90% |

Don't smoke. Any smoking area should be well away from non-smoking areas. I don't favor laws that force such areas to always be outside, provided the previous sentence is in consideration; that should be the purview of the property owner, not the state. But if one must smoke outside, it's courteous to smoke away from an entrance that others will be expected to use to access the con. |

Never smoked, prefer not to be around people who do smoke during a game so I support outdoor smoking areas. |

I game with some guys who are such inveterate smokers they managed to get some tables set up in the pool courtyard and spent 2 days out there gaming al fresco. |

I am fine with people choosing to smoke as long as they do not do so around me when indoors—I am more open to being around it outside. I agree with an above poster, though, that even though I never smoked I miss the smell of pipe tobacco. |

As one who still smokes the occassional pipe or cigar, I do miss the days when smoking was accepted. The smell of pipe smoke at cons was always a pleasant one. |

I don't smoke. Fortunately Florida a clean air State so no smoking indoors with a very few exceptions. Places that do allow smoking outdoors usually set up a designated area. |

I remember the horror of showing up at the Host and choking on cigar smoke in the main lobby while checking in at the front desk since the 'designated smoking ' area was completely open to and essentially part of the lobby. |

Don't smoke … never did … I echo what many others have said here … At any public place there should be no smoking, IMO. There can be an area set up out somewhere for those that are addicted to tobacco products. Fortunately in my state, Ohio there is a smoking ban in most places but private clubs. We all know secondary smoke is very bad. If some one does not care about their health. They should not be so "selfish" to expect others who do and to be negatively affected by their unhealthy bad smelling habit. |

Don't smoke, never will. My father used to smoke at dinner, extremely happy when he stopped and will never put up with it again. I don't even want to game with someone who goes outside to smoke, the stink is still there when they get back. |

Non-smoker, and very happy that the hotel is non-smoking, and the city is non-smoking, and the state is non-smoking. My parents smoked (a lot), and put me off being around smokers. No w if we can get the smokers farther away from the doors, that would be even better. |

Never smoked, my mom and wife did, and told me they never "enjoyed" it, but that it was indeed an addiction. I was always too cheap to want to spend my "toy money" on things that burned up and smelled bad. My hat's off to those who move to vaping as a substitute or step-down to quitting. Mrs. Carp found that to be fairly effective as a way of easing off the coffin nails. It also disburses fewer toxins into the neighboring atmosphere. |

I go to conventions in California. Ah, the good old days of college, when we'd smoke cigars while playing Diplomacy. Or other things while playing Star Force Alpha Centauri. Now I have a cigar or two a year, usually sitting on my deck on a rainy afternoon, reading something work-related. |

I don't smoke. However, I don't mind if others gaming smoke in the gaming area----as long as they respect my wishes to take it 'outside' if the amount of smoke becomes too much! Tom S. |

Smoke, smoke, smoke that cigarette! Smoke, smoke, smoke it till you smoke yourself to death… When you get to the Pearly Gates, tell Saint Peter he'll have to wait; you just gotta have another cigarette… |
Nick Pasha | 16 Nov 2017 2:31 p.m. PST |
I have never smoked cigarettes. I do, on occasion ( once or twice a year) puff on a cigar, outside of the convention center, away from the doors. I can't stand people who smoke by the outside doors forcing you to walk through the smoke. They need to move away. Also the smell from stale smoke that gets embedded in clothes and skin makes me ill. |

I thought it was all about the "Smoking Gun". I remember back in the late'70s early 80's taking part in tournaments with"Crazy Eddie" who used to smoke this dodgy reinactor's tobacco out of a clay pipe during the tournament as a chemical weapon, visions of figures advancing through real smoke screens. Given up smoker 32 years. |

I don't smoke. Non smoker for life. We have a non smoking policy at work. In that we don't hire smokers. I have non-smoking policy in my cars. I have a non smoking policy at home. Never again in any of my games. We are always waiting on them to do their turn or whatever. They leave cigarette butts in my yard. Be gone with you! |

I am anti-smoker on everything. If it is allowed in certain venues I will not come back. Can't stand the smell – digusting. It was a beautiful day when Michigan outlawed smoking in restaurants. |
