The Brass Fitzroyian Stormglass – This is the brass desktop stormglass that predicts the weather just like its ship-mounted predecessors that explorers used to help navigate storm-ridden seas. Used since 1750 when it was employed by Admiral FitzRoy, captain of the H.M.S. Beagle, when he and his lieutenant, Charles Darwin, voyaged to the Galapagos Islands in 1831, its function remains a mystery even though its ability to predict atmospheric change is well documented. ..

The Weather Channel works pretty well for me . . .

A GPS receiver is a lot easier to use than the sextant. :)

Didn't say I would use it!

What a bunch of B.S. FitzRoy was not even alive in 1750, was not an admiral when he commanded H.M.S. Beagle, and Charles Darwin never held any naval rank--he was a civilian naturalist. So how much faith would you have in anything sold by this outfit?

Hammacher Schlemmer has been around for a long time.
Reading their catalog is always good for a few laughs.

Attila--they're a retailer, not a manufacturer. And I wouldn't expect copywriters to be experts on much of anything, here or elsewhere.
