Just to say that I ordered a copy of the first volume of "The First Colonial Soldiers" by Wienand Drenth and Lt Gen Jonathon Riley, from Wienand (who is a member of this forum and lives in The Netherlands) and received it today within a week of my request. It is, on initial reading, an excellent tome (I bought it primarily for the information on the British garrison of Tangiers, 1660-1684) and I thoroughly recommend it. In addition to the timely delivery of the book, I was also delighted to be told I now qualify for a discount on the second volume (published in two parts). Thank you, Wienand. |

Great books, I'd say essential for anyone with an interest in the military history of British colonies from 1650-1714. I bought them for the information on India and Tangier, but also enjoyed reading about the forces in the Americas. |

I'd agree, I bought these when they originally came out. Wienand was a great guy to do business with. Can't recommend him highly enough… |
