(copied from my post in HMGS Facebook page):
TMP is not a vehicle for HMGS. It is, however, a bully pulpit (in TR's sense) to hash out the rough spots and come to some semblance of informed chaos. It can also serve as a warning foghorn to alert, remind, inform, or correct those intending to participate in upcoming cons. If you have concerns, package them in a coherent calm post so that they may be addressed by HMGS staff monitoring these boards to get the pulse of the potential attendee audience. Do not be abusive. Do not be antagonistic. Do not rabble-rouse to get the pitchfork-and-torch brigade together to lynch the staff members who may respond. _Use_ this forum as a two-way pipeline to identify potential problems, share ideas, develop solutions, and get rapid-'response updates from the Big Cheese herself! (No offense meant, Heather). Where else have you had the electronic ear of the Convention Manager for months leading up to the convention??

Tick, tock; tick, tock.

Just a reminder that the clock is running, GMs.

I doubt you will get an extension this time.

Hope to see you there.

capncarp28 Nov 2017 5:52 p.m. PST

Errrr, what 47Ronin said: 8 days left to December 6th, the cutoff date for PEL submissions.

historygamer29 Nov 2017 7:10 a.m. PST

Is there something wrong with the links to contact the CW staff? I wanted to contact Dan about changing my game time, but when I clicked on his name it brings up a GMail page and asked if I wanted to create an account? No. I want to contact Dan. Is this something that needs fixed? I noticed the same happens for all the staff listed there as well.

historygamer29 Nov 2017 7:17 a.m. PST

Quick follow up – the email address/email comes right up for the links on the Fall In page. So I am guessing someone needs to fix the contact links for CW.

Poniatowski29 Nov 2017 9:41 a.m. PST

@Historygamer, thanks for that info. I will pass it along tight away…. I can always be reached here or at my Fall IN! link if it is working correctly.

thxs,
Dan

Ok, just tried to contact another staff member through the CW landing page for staff contacts…. when I click on it, it takes me to my gmail and then after I log in, I have a blank email already opened that is directed to whomever I want to email….

In my case I selected the registrar….

For the Fall In landing page it opens an email directly….

The page layouts are different also.

I am working to see what the difference is and why.

thxs,
Dan

historygamer29 Nov 2017 10:07 a.m. PST

The CW page forces you to use Gmail – which I and many others don't have. Not the case with the FI page.

So in the mean time should we use your FI Director email?

Thanks for responding Dan. :-)

Poniatowski30 Nov 2017 7:35 a.m. PST

@historygamer… obviously it is best to go through the CW page if you can…. but.. if you need to contact events, please do so any way you need to.

I spoke with IT and they are aware of the issue. That kind of stuff is kind of over my head.

There is also an issue with club editing for some reason, it is being worked on also. In the mean time.. I can help make any club changes you need.

thxs,
Dan

capncarp30 Nov 2017 11:25 a.m. PST

Pssst….historygamer: you could always PM Dan via the backchannel TMP Poniatowski account.
Nice to have options when the expectedly unexpected (i.e. stuff doesn't work as it should) happend.

historygamer30 Nov 2017 1:54 p.m. PST

I think you have to be a supporting member of TMP to have that ability and mine recently lapsed. I'll be re-upping when I place some items for sale on the market boards.

capncarp30 Nov 2017 5:12 p.m. PST

There's also the HMGS Facebook page. For those that care to deal with Facebook.

dapeters19 Dec 2017 9:55 a.m. PST

Not to be a jerk but….

capncarp20 Dec 2017 6:51 p.m. PST

…but…?
Could you clarify your point for those of us who don't process broad hints easily?

dapeters21 Dec 2017 9:16 a.m. PST

OP says the "12.15.2017 Events Listing (PEL) Published"

capncarp21 Dec 2017 3:21 p.m. PST

Yeahhhhh…..
Wellllll…..
I want go see the list as least as much as you do. Sigh.

Poniatowski22 Dec 2017 5:35 a.m. PST

The PEL list was made and edited by myself by Dec 6th, reviewed and should have been up in time. I will inquire.

dapeters22 Dec 2017 10:23 a.m. PST

Again did not want to be a jerk and thanks for all the folks that work to make HMGS cons happen.

ViscountEric02 Jan 2018 8:41 p.m. PST

Only five more days to until I can register for all those cool games in the Cold Wars PEL!

Waitaminute…

dapeters03 Jan 2018 9:13 a.m. PST

lol

Poniatowski03 Jan 2018 12:59 p.m. PST

If anyone has any questions, please contact me directly… you know how.

thxs,
Dan

47Ronin03 Jan 2018 3:35 p.m. PST

Thanks, Dan.

FYI, last time I checked, the CW web page said the new PEL deadline is Jan. 6th.

Very funny, Viscount Eric, as usual.
To borrow from the movie, HMGS has top people working on the problem.
Top People.
Enjoy the games. Hope to see you there.

PJ ONeill03 Jan 2018 5:44 p.m. PST

Just to avoid confusion- The HMGS website, under "important dated for CW '18" listed the PEL publish date as 12/15/2017, and said that, as late as 1/2/2017.
As of 1/3/17 it now lists 1/6/17 as the publish date.

Poniatowski04 Jan 2018 8:35 a.m. PST

Yes, I saw that too. I had a simple PEL done by 12.10.17. I am not aware of any issues other than my formatting was not the exact way it was needed to be. I would put this one me as I was not aware of the changes in format. I ran the PEL as I would for Fall In!. It looked fine, but it was not what was wanted.
