GameHoleCon was just this past weekend in Madison WI. It's held at the Alliant Energy Convention Center. It had a lot of RPGs, board games, card games, and miniature wargaming.

This was my first time to GHC. I would call it a regional-sized conference. It's hard to gauge how many people were there. I'd say a bit smaller than GaryCon and smaller than Little Wars. It was run really well, I had no bad experiences as an attendee or a GM.

The HMGS-Midwest was out in force there. I had the pleasure of playing in Steve Fratt's "Saving Private Ryan" 54mm game – what a fun, emotionally-gripping game! I also played in a silly miniatures game called "When Good Villagers Go Bad" – it's by Inner City Games Design. I also ran a Ral Partha Chaos Wars fantasy miniatures game on Sunday morning. Kevin Cabai was out with his Orcs Drift game and I saw one other era (1800s?) represented, as well as futuristic games.

If you haven't had a chance to go to GHC, I would recommend you go. I had a blast and everyone there seemed to have a lot of fun.

Chgowiz, thanks for the kind words. Our group had a great time at the con as well. We were able generate a strong interest in Little Wars for 2018 and recruited a number of GMs for events.

Steve Fratt and I had a chance to talk with Alex Kammer, and has reaffirmed the drive to bring more mini events to GameHoleCon. He a has very spacious venue, and his support staff is top notch. We are looking forward to next year.

Hey Kevin, hope you are feeling better!

I'm glad you guys are coming back to GHC, I was really impressed with the diversity of attendees and games. They gave you all a great amount of space and there were some great tables laid out.

I'll see you at Little Wars, can't wait!

This was in the same Madison, Wisconsin that I live in?!? Man, you guys need to advertise more, lol. I was bemoaning the fact that I couldn't get to Fall In after planning to do so for the first time (RL intervened), and Googled "miniature conventions in November, 2017" and IIRC the closest I found was one in Ohio or Tennessee or some such place!

PS, drove right by Alliant Center twice over the weekend, to boot!

Sorry you missed it, at least you know for next year. I just googled the same thing:

Shyte, I either have bad eyes or asked something a slight bit different, kcbai. But thanks, I'm on notice for next year.

I have wanted to attend this con since it began! Hopefully things will come together eventually. Planning to move to Madison in 2019, anyway. Alex K is a good guy and I'm sure he runs a terrific convention.
