The first Lard Days at an HMGS convention was held at Fall-In this year. We had a good mixture of games including IABSM, Sharp Practice (covering several periods – AWI, ACW. Napoleonics), Chain of Command and General D'Armee. We were located in the Tournament Area and had multiple tables of gaming going at any one time. Participants seemed to have a good time discussing and playing games from the world of TooFat Lardies. We hope to do this again at future HMGS conventions. Thanks to all who put on a game or participated and special thanks to Patrick Berkibile for doing the heavy lifting that made this event possible. Ed |

I'm really sad that I couldn't make Fall In! this year! Hopefully, this can be continued at Cold Wars? I am really trying to work this one in! :) |

There was discussion about repeating this event at CW. I played Lardy games on Saturday – A very well done and presented ACW Sharp Practice game, Chain of Command and finally General d'Armee in the evening. I was inspired to start my North Africa project for CoC! |

I really enjoyed the TFL area – thanks for the kind words DeRuyter for my ACW game. Here's some more shots: link |

The Lard Days were excellent. Folks seemed to enjoy the mix of games. Special thanks to Patrick and the crew that ran the Saturday night General d'Armee game!! They ran a really fun game for a great group of players. Nicely done figures and terrain, humor and patience aplenty, and maintaining a nice game flow while helping folks learn the rules |

I completely missed this at Fall In as it was listed in the Tournaments section of the program (and I didn't have much time to spend there this year). Please run another one at Cold Wars! |

Thank you everyone for the kind comments. I think it is a real tribute to everyone that ran games and helped with them. Our goal was to get the space and let the GMs do their thing. I think we were extremely successful in that regard. I have always been a major TFL fan, in particular IABSM and TW&T so it was nice seeing the mix of games. I Was very impressed. Good news – We will definitely be putting on a Cold Wars Lard Day. We have lots of positive lessons learned and are already getting planning underway. The big question is…do we shoot for a clubroom or stay in the tournament space? Stay tuned for more…. Cheers. pb |
