I had a great time at this year's Fall In and would like to acknowledge those most responsible.

A big thanks to Dan and the rest of the staff for putting together a great convention. Also, thanks for the new tables. They are a big improvement.

As for games I played……….thanks to Pete Panzeri for his Abraham's Flanque 1759 game, Chris Palmer for his GASLIGHT Dr. Who game, and Patrick Berkebile for his General d'Armee game. All were very enjoyable.

Thanks also for Todd Presley and Jeremy Bernhardt for their tutorials in the Hobby University. I can't recommend these enough. It's a great way to spend a few hours and you will always pick up something useful.

And finally thanks to the "Usual Suspects" who all make the long drive from Canada worth it. Thanks to Gil, Mike, Mack, Ken, Russ, Rob, Patrick and Chris for putting up with me. I'm skipping Cold Wars next year so I hope to see you all at the Weekend.

Seconded… always have a good time at Fall In!

Indeed. And let's not forget the Host staff. I've been attending longer than some of the present staff have been alive, but they've always done their best to bail me out of whatever situation I've gotten myself into.

Like Lord Wellington, we need to be better at giving praise.

I thanked the ladies maintaining the rest rooms, because the ones I frequented were kept pretty clean and well stocked.

It was my first Fall In and whilst I had a good time, a game I had registered for on Friday was postponed to Saturday and then never turned up.
Vendor Hall is much better and the lighting in all the rooms including the Distlefink.

Kudos to the Staffs at HMGS and The Host for succeeding in a less than perfect environment. Had a great time schmoozing and seeing old friends.

Thanks for a great time! Your work is appreciated.

Now for Cold Wars…

What a terrific event! Thank the staff for their superb work. Well done! Great to see Gregg and Peter again and so many younger folks too.

Big thanks to all the staff volunteers who helped make the con possible.

In total agreement that this was a great convention. Big thanks to Dan and staff for setting up and running an event where folks could relax and have a good time. Also, some more praise for the redone vendor's area – what a huge improvement.

Sounds like I missed a really good show. Is historicon going to be at the host? I guess I'm looking forward to that. I will be celebrating my 50th year and the war game in life.

robert piepenbrink Supporting Member of TMP06 Nov 2017 8:26 a.m. PST

Yes, Bobgnar: all three HMGS-East conventions will be at the Host in 2018. Plans for 2019 are still being worked out.

WarWizard06 Nov 2017 10:31 a.m. PST

Thanks to all for another great show! I really like the changes to the vendor hall, should be really nice when 100% completed. I assume access from main site to vendor hall will improve. Looking forward to Cold Wars.

historygamer06 Nov 2017 11:59 a.m. PST

The only change I would recommend for the new dealer hall is that the Host get those pull down sun blinds – like you see in restaurant windows – so when the sunlight is blasting through on that side you can see. At times I found it hard to look at the dealers' stuff lining that wall of windows during the afternoon hours.

This Fall in really went smoothy. I checked in Friday morning in less than five minutes and I had a great time. Kudos to Dan and crew for a job well done.

I have posted a report on the game to my blog, as well as the linked second Doctor Who game Greg and I ran later that night: link
