Does anyone know if the newest edition of these rules are out yet, as I was told that Bruce did run a game at Fall In convention at Lancaster Host resort. I saw pictures of Bruce's game and as usual, the battlefield was exceptionally done.

Yes they should be available. I saw copies at the Antwerp show yesterday.

I saw them for sale at On Military Matters. The title for them is 1871.

1871 are a new set by Bruce. The rules are basically the same as 1870, 1859, and 1866, with some modifications to speed play, among other things. If you are interested in this period each set provides much more than the rules and they are tremendous historical sources even if you don't play the rules.

There is the 1870 Yahoo! Group. There is plenty discussion about the new rules. One of the more active groups.

Picked up a copy of 1871 at Fall In from On Military Matters, walked by Bruce's excellent game table but didn't have a chance to watch the game due to scheduling conflicts.
