Can anyone recommend a good source of information for the french forces 1944-45 after the liberation of Paris. Looking for uniform details, I know they were usual dressed in US uniforms. And for the unit markings for their armoured vehicles. |

For Sherman markings you can't do better than Centurytracks #1 by Editions Barbotin, " Les Shermans Francais de la Liberation 1943 – 1945". 13 pages of colour plates enable you to model virtually any Sherman, with marking details right down to platoon level. The downside is that finding a copy may well be difficult |

The French Army of Victory (Officer & Soldiers) ISBN-13: 978-2352502616 The French Army 1939-45 (2): Free French, Fighting French and the Army of Liberation Vol 2 (Men-at-Arms)ISBN-13: 978-1855327078 I think the first book is good but some don't like the illustration style and there are not a lot of notes. Don't have the second. TOE was similar to the USA but there are differences. |
