as usual with the spanish-speaking forum, a typical and traditional undestimation of the spaniards in the french and/or napoleonic ranks in 1808-1814 for obvious reasons the Spaniards used to consider only the few guerrilleros as the only Spaniards at arms in 1808-1814 when actually it was their first XIXth century civil war

quite curious to proclaim as introduction an "escasa relevancia numerica"…

he writes he doesn't have figures and datas about the Portuguese Legion, something curious because I remember that I have precised in this forum "elgrancapitan" few years ago that such corps had until 77% of spanish soldiers and some others figures

with others units, oustide Spain and within Peninsula the number of Spaniards allied to French after 1808 was very far to be reduced as an «escasa relevancia numerica» limited to the well known Regiment Joseph Napoleon and Joseph's Army only the tip of the iceberg, not only the military, even the Spanish Church was very far to be the anti french-napoleonic branch we think as some books these last years are trying to revisit the great heroic spanish vision of the so-called "War of Independence"
