Hi All

Last months Update

TMP link

Well due to work commitments and other things going on not a greatly productive month for me. I managed a lot of prep work on models but need to get on with finishing lots of bits and bobs off.

Bought
28mm – 71 (OOPS – Damn you Blitzkrieg miniatures, Black tree Design and Warlord for having offers on lots of things I wanted!!!)

Painted
6mm – 12 (colonial British)
28mm – 9 (WWII Germans)

Monthly Profit = -50
Yearly Profit = +464

Novemeber Plan

1) Paint more 28mm Germans
2) Base the Russian tanks and finish them off (90% completed)

MH
:-)

No time for my hobbies last few months. Definitely need to find more time and energy.

YTD Purchased: 102
YTD Painted: 8

September 2017 total:

Bought 19 (even more fire sale Spartan stuff)
Sold 130
Painted 0 (did get some started, though)

Year-to-date totals:
Growth -465
Painted 17

It was a decent flea market. Next one I might not be so lucky, but that's December.

A friend was selling off parts of his collection and I did what I rarely do and bought some painted figures. Some of the figures were unpainted some needed a touch up so my numbers are a little confused, I also now have a new period. The bright side is that it's Darkest Africa and the figures that were unpainted were native bearers so were very quick to paint up.

Bought – 50(not counting painted + 3 that were gifted)
Painted – 41(Foundry Darkest Africa 28mm) 16 (Perry AWI 28mm) 14 (Pulp Flint & Feather Hurons 28mm)

Monthly profit – +21
Yearly profit – +91

I'm in a good position to finish out the year in the black with a small dent in the lead pile.

I've never been one for counting before but since March I've bought 7 28mm figures and painted 230 (counting cavalry as two)…..all dark ages.

WOW, just wow!

A good month, reducing the pile somewhat with trades and sales. Did a lot of prep work, with winters in the Chicagoland area sometimes it's hard to prime.

Bought/traded: 23
Sold/traded: 32
Painted: 16
Monthly: -25 (in the green!)
YTD: -84 (in the green!)

With no terrain projects on the horizon for the early 2018 cons, I should get more painting done thanks to Fall/Winter weather!

PS. Out of curiosity, do you all normally count cavalry as one or two?

Chgowiz: I count cavalry as one figure.

Plugging along this month. No massive paint fests or sell offs in October.

Start: +824 for the year
Painted: 28 Royalist Quar
Bought: 19 Team Yankee vehicles
End: +843 for the year.

Chgowiz, I count cavalry as one. All scales are counted the same also so a 15mm, 28mm and 40mm figure count the same.

DOUGKL05 Nov 2017 1:32 p.m. PST

Decent month bought some figures but still painted more so net positive in figures painted.

Bought 50 ACW Inf
Painted 92 ACW inf
+42 for the month
+198 for the year
I count all figures as one too, be it infantry, cavalry, vehicle or building. It is simpler. When it is done it is a figure you can game with no matter the scale.

Chgowiz06 Nov 2017 9:14 a.m. PST

Thanks! That's how I count them too. I really, really, really don't like that it feels like FOREVER to finish cavalry units… it feels like I'm painting 2 figures.

madcam2us08 Nov 2017 5:27 p.m. PST

So the next two months will be inventory time… I had 2 or 3 periods where i really cranked out some lead… but then bought more because i just needed to flush out this or that unit… Then I needed an opposition to those ones there… Wow, look my sons want to play D&D, better get some minis to dungeon crawl with, 15mm will do nicely and be cheap… Oooh, Reaper's are excellent, lets try them in 28s… and so forth….

BUT, 2018 will see me paint units and not buy until a i complete 1000 figures of 15s, or 50 figures of 28s…

Unless, those Frostgrave figs go on sale or I want to "finish" my 15mm dungeon crawl inventory….

LOL

Madcam.
