Today I review the Toys R Us "Mythical Heroes" set of Sword & Sorcery figures. Fantasy gamers and fans of the Sword & Sorcery might like this! The set is filled with figures reminiscent of Conan the Barbarian and some nice scenery pieces. Great stuff to use as is, convert, or use as Orges, Trolls, etc for smaller scale gaming.

Nice write-up. Lots of interesting bits.

Reference to Pennsylvanians made me laugh.

Thanks. I always got a reaction when I referred to Pennsylvania as "the Bumpkin State."

Nice reiew.
I don't do any 54mm gaming, but I always like your toy soldier reviews.

Kind of like the Wal-Mart "The Corps! Elite" bucket (also only 10 bucks), this one looks to be worth it even if you only buy it for the 28mm-useable accessories.

I think it is their least useful bucket (inconsistent numbers of limited use figures). The pirates bucket and the skeleton bucket provide a lot more bang for the buck, but I did pick up a few of these fantasy buckets in case I needed anything out of them. I actually forgot I had them. It might be time to break them out and do some simple gaming with my kids.

Thanks for this, both pirates and fantasy are potential Xmas gifts for nephews who like to make up their own games.

I will be reviewing the Pirate Bucket later this week. Also, the BMC Iwo Jima Marines and Japanese in the "Marx compatible" colors.

I got this a few years back. My thoughts: Could use fewer elves and more of the orc guys. Other than that, nice.

Great write up. Always interesting to see alternative ways to get your toy Soldier fix. Thanks for posting!

I think these are a seasonal item, I bought a set (Pretty much the same contents) a couple of years ago.

Yes, it definitely needs more orcs, and maybe some giant rats? But as a stocking stuffer a good start for kids.
