Tom Meier, who has been sculpting miniatures for 40 years is apparently shutting down his company.

This note is posted on his home page:

NOTICE: We will be closing the online store and not accepting any new orders after Dec 25th of this year.

Thanks for posting this. I have not looked there in a while. I love the figures.

Oh wow – I know everything comes to an end, but those are such beautiful figures.

Already have several of the Legends – might just go for the complete set though.

Always love Tom Meier's elves and orcs – he really captured Tolkien's vision.

I grabbed a pack of his figs years ago in a bargain bin. They are the most beautiful minis I own – so much so that I've been too intimidated to try to paint them. I see that the one's I've got are no longer offered. They are four kings, I think of the North, South, East and West.

Man, I might have to get some ballerinas(and support weapons) for my daughter.

I need to make one more order…pronto!

That blows. Tom Meier is really talented. I hope he keeps on sculpting for other companies.

An enigmatic announcement. Will the figures continue to be available through another outlet?

I sincerely hope he doesn't decide to go the Tom Loback route. It would be a shame to lose all that beauty.

The blog link doesn't seem to go to his old blog unfortunately, just a placeholder page.

This makes me sad, especially as I am broke and will not be able to buy those extra nice Elven Noble cavalry.

I bought all the elves a while back, they are indeed beautiful. Just wish he had developed scale creep when he did Arthur. Guess mow is the time to get them before they dissappear.

They haven't fallen within the purview of my projects for a long while, but I've always admired the sculpts tremendously. Hopefully someone picks them up.

I haven't really played fantasy games in years but I have always admired his work and might just pick up some just to have as they are such amazing sculpts.

This is sad news. Any chance Tom might re-release some of his classic OOP stuff before the end? I STILL am dying to get that Death's Door diorama!
