We'll reveal an exciting new project at Fall In. Come by the booth to check it out.

And it looks like I won't make it. Rats.

Hmm,18th Century Board. 10 new SYW sets? Probably not. . .

What could it be?

mikeygees30 Oct 2017 2:36 p.m. PST

Inquiry minds, who can't attend Fall In, want to know. 😁

mrwigglesworth30 Oct 2017 3:43 p.m. PST

40mm??

The H Man30 Oct 2017 4:13 p.m. PST

No. It looks like they are announcing a new major.

Hafen von Schlockenberg30 Oct 2017 5:14 p.m. PST

Hope it's not Malfunction.

Chris already does 40's, mrwigglesworth and has for
several years.

Disco Joe30 Oct 2017 7:28 p.m. PST

Maybe a range they don't already have.

Neal Smith30 Oct 2017 7:41 p.m. PST

I sent him an email with an idea just the other day…

It must be that! :)

Chris,

This is just cruel for those of us that live thousands of miles from Fall In. Similar effect to clear taping peanuts to the window sill and watching the pigeons go crazy. :)

Joking aside, looking forward to your new releases.

Ed, I think the question was, will the new project be in 40mm?

The fact that this is posted on both the ACW and 18th Century boards makes it more mysterious. Chris,You are turning us into Tantaluseses. Er. . .

I can't think what 18th century line it might be: Jacobites? That would give painters fits. I would wish for a few sets of cavalry and artillery for mid-century French and British. That would at least allow me to use FIW figures for some SYW actions. Doubt that's going to happen,as I said above--though FIW is one of the top selling lines,SYW is one of the poorest. Unfortunately.

I'd love to see Prussian and Austrian cuirassiers to go with the dragoons and hussars.

(These are not mine, BTW. Unfortunately!).

Meveeder31 Oct 2017 10:23 a.m. PST

Love the figures!!!

Chuckaroobob31 Oct 2017 11:22 a.m. PST

I've been bugging Chris to use me as a model for some heads for years. That must be it.

vonLoudon31 Oct 2017 12:53 p.m. PST

Mechanical army ants to move your bases across the table. Controlled by an I-phone costing $3,500. USD Close?

Hafen von Schlockenberg31 Oct 2017 2:00 p.m. PST

Mechanical? Just train some real ones.

Just how many heads do you have,Chuck?

Winston Smith01 Nov 2017 8:57 a.m. PST

Programmable siafu?

Any ideas or updates on what the Mystery Products are?

Regarding SYW sales, any range made by any company will lose sales momentum if they do not add to the range or do not have a range that offers the needed basic combat arms.

Lord Ashram04 Nov 2017 7:50 a.m. PST

Yes, he is doing a fantastic looking French and Indian war kick starter! I'll post some photos when I put up myVendors pictures:)

Hafen von Schlockenberg04 Nov 2017 7:59 a.m. PST

Please do! I'd like to see what he could be adding to an already extensive line.

Old Fritz--

True enough, but on the other hand, if a company introduces a new line, and find sales disappointing,it's likely to go on the back burner. If several new lines, the ones selling will get the attention (as is clear from Lord Ashram's post above). Of course, as you say, sales will tend to fall off for the slow-growing line. It's kind of a catch-22,unfortunately.

I will say that Chris has provided the basics:

I'd like to see more cavalry types,as I mentioned, and Grenzers. And Russians!

Looking towards the other end of the scale spectrum, while I was talking with (read "whining at") Russ Dunaway at Historicon this year,he raised (read "toyed with") the possibility of getting back to 10mm,as they are still selling well. If he were to add to HIS 10mm SYW range, I'd be in like a shot.

But given the sales of Blue Moon, I'll be dead before that happens.

What heck was it?

The French and Indian War kickstarter will be in 28mm. From the list he was handing out at the con it does look like it will be very extensive. That is if the kickstarter does well.

Great idea! I'm looking forward to it!

When is he doing the kickstarter?

Sorry. I have photos, just been overwhelmed with work:(. I'll get them up, promise, including a photo of the info sheet Chris was handing out!

We plan on launching the Kickstarter in early 2018. The working list that Lord Ashram posted is missing troops with snowshoes -- I typed the list right before leaving for Fall In and inadvertently omitted them.
