Hi!

I've painted the «4e Gardes d'honneur» (honour guards).

Please have a look on the following link:

Hope you'll enjoy :-)

I certainly did enjoy them. Other than Perry website, you have a "first" here for painted figures. On my list of things to do…heck, I asked for them for long enough!

Really inspiring. I prefer these pics to the Perry promotional ones….because now we are seeing a unit, not a series of trios.

They look great at rest and not in a wild charge pose.

Great photography too. Superb close ups. (Try a higher f number and longer exposure to get more depth of focus on the side angle photos?)

Very very nice they are on my to do list

Meant to ask the question everyone poses….and funnily how often it is that particular colour.

The green used. In 28mm it looks absolutely right, needs to be this dark. So…

What did you use?

Blue Max31 Oct 2017 11:06 a.m. PST

Thank you all for your comments.

I used vallejo black green 70.980.

I hope the Perry bros will release other «rare» guard units, like the «Gendarmes d'ordonnance» for example…

I think they are the very last Guard unit that no one does…..

Might just be a veteran foot unit or some such missing?

I still hope Perrys will also release the promised metal heads to convert plastic hussars to Gardes d'Honneur

Nice. Love the colour choices. They have great depth of colour.

a truely superb unit, looking even better in the flesh than on picture and should know as they are now in the collection of Marcel 1809. To blue Max an advise (againt my own pocket but you deserve a good price) if you put them on E bay always make sure that the term "napoleonic 28 mm" is in the title, otherwise it will not show up on most searches (I onlyy found them through this thread. Therefore there is not so much attention as they deserve.

Thank you for the feedback and the advice Marcel :-)

Don't hesitate to follow me on ebay or on my blog for future releases, or have a look here:

ordered mine today.

Long overdue!

Hope they do release the promised heads, to convert the plastic hussars too.

and again a request.

Consider releasing such standing horses for these and other units. Perrys do offer them with Chasseurs and now these folk. Also for British Light Dragoons and for Cuirassiers. But why not release sets of just the horses, no riders, so we can mount our Ligne Lancers, our British Hussars, our Heavy cavalry? These castings already exist….just box them differently.

Even better, add on some standing, or at least walking, horses with holsters as per Garde (twin would do, easy to add one more if needed) and, best of all, with the pointed shabraque as used for most Light Officers, for Light Cavalry of Garde etc. Again, the castings do exist in the Perry Range.

We can then buy the galloping figures. The racing horses will not go to waste. But we can then pay a little bit more for the horses for our parade figures. More business surely
